A top-notch Chinese restaurant in Collegetown, this eatery moved up the hill from Ithaca's west end about five years ago. It's easy enough to stick to typical Chinese fare at Hai Hong, like sesame chicken or shrimp lo mein, and Hai Hong does them well, but it's worth stretching out and trying some new things. I'm a big fan of the roast duck appetizer, or when it's cold out share one of the soups... like the salted egg with mustard greens and sliced pork. Save room for the fried ice cream.
