Healthy Food for All, a program that makes fresh produce accessible to Tompkins County families with limited income, says next Sunday night's benefit dinner will have a Masquerade theme, in honor of the Halloween season. Sunday's dinner, which will be held at Stick and Stone Farm on October 27th, begins with a tour of the farm at 4pm.
Stick and Stone Farm on Trumansburg Road. The farm tour will be followed by a seasonal hors d'oeuvres and wine reception, then a gourmet feast featuring local foods. The menu will be prepared by Red Newt Bistro and Crooked Carrot Farm and Kitchen, paired with wines from Red Newt Wine Cellars, and the String Bean String Band will provide musical entertainment.
Sunday's menu features roasted pumpkin soup, chevre and herb ravioli, a cassoulet of local beans, root vegetables, pork, duck, and sausage, a wilted greens salad, ginger pear panna cotta, and more.
All-inclusive tickets for the event cost $75, and are available at www.healthyfoodforall.org. A vegetarian option for meat dishes is available upon request; organizers ask that attendees specify when they order their tickets. The meal is made possible by donations of food and time from chefs, farms, wineries, and support staff.
Next weekend's event is the fourth fine-dining benefit gala of the year. One more dinner is scheduled this season, on November 3rd at West Haven Farm.
