Need to entertain the family in or near Ithaca and a home-cooked meal doesn't feel like the right plan? There are a few local eateries planning to serve special Thanksgiving meals, and some will have their full menu for their normal hours.
Manos Diner in Ithaca's Southwest is known year-round for serving fresh turkey, roasted in-house, and they'll surely be serving lots of that this week. They're open 24 hours as usual, with a full menu.
Near the Shops at Ithaca Mall in the northeast part of town, the Ithaca Airport Ramada Inn is offering a Thanksgiving brunch from 11am-4pm, and suggests calling ahead for reservations.
Also in the northeast, the Scale House Brewery & Pub is opening at 5pm with sandwiches and other simple menu items alongside their craft beer.
Downtown, the Holiday Inn Ithaca has a Thanksgiving buffet running from 11am-4pm, at $19 for adults and $9 for kids ages 4-12. Veterans and all uniformed public servants eat for $11.
Downtown with a lighter appetite? Visit The Shop Cafe at the foot of the Seneca Street hill. They're open 8am-1pm this Thursday serving handmade coffee drinks and great tea, plus locally baked pastries.
In Ithaca's West End, Joe's Restaurant will be open on Thursday from noon-9pm, with a Thanksgiving special prix fixe menu alongside their regular menu.
Overlooking Cayuga Lake, Taughannock Farms Inn is open from noon to 8pm for Thanksgiving dinner, then closed until April except for dinner on New Year's Eve.
And on the Seneca Lake wine trail on Route 414, Daño's Heuriger has a prix fixe Thanksgiving menu available from noon-6pm.
Looking for take-out or delivery? Want to stray from the traditional Thanksgiving fare? Campusfood says three Asian eateries will be open for Thanksgiving. Aki Samurai Japanese Restaurant, Bubble Tea Asian & Thai Cuisine, and Plum Tree Japanese Restaurant have told Campusfood they'll be open. (Hours may be limited.)
And now, it's time to start compiling the eatery hours around Christmas and New Year's Day.
CC's in Collegetown will be closed December 21st through January 16th, reopening the 17th.
Manos Diner in Ithaca's Southwest is serving until 2pm on Christmas Eve and reopening December 26th at 6am, then serving on New Year's Eve until 7pm and reopening New Year's Day at 6am.
