Where can you dine in and around Ithaca and Tompkins County over the upcoming holiday weekends? As always, there will be a few eateries open over the Christmas and New Year weekends, and we've got details on when restaurants will be open and closed. Eateries open on New Year's Eve are shown in bold. Note that some of those are just open for dinner, not for midnight celebrations.
Aladdin's Natural Eatery will be closed December 24th through January 2nd.
Apollo Restaurant is open 11am-10pm December 18th-23rd, closed December 24th and 25th, and open 11am-10pm December 26th through January 22nd.
Blue Stone Bar & Grill will be closed December 24th-27th.
BoatYard Grill will be open until 9pm on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day, then open until 11pm on New Year's Eve and closed on New Year's Day.
Burger King at East Hill Plaza will be open 7am-6pm on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day, open 7am-11pm on New Year's Eve, and open 10:30am-11pm on New Year's Day.
Carriage House Cafe is closed December 19th through January 19th.
CC's in Collegetown says they'll likely be closed from December 20th through the holidays, reopening on Monday, January 2nd.
The Clarion University Hotel's restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's day, and only for breakfast on Christmas Day.
The Coal Shack Cafe on Maple Avenue will be open its usual hours through December 23rd, and will open from 8-10am on Christmas Day for your morning coffee run. They'll be open 8am-11am from December 26th-30th for breakfast, and returning to normal hours on January 2nd.
Collegetown Bagels in Collegetown will be closed December 24th through January 1st, will have reduced hours through January 12th, and will return to regular hours on January 13th.
Collegetown Pizza is closed through January 11th.
Corks & More on the waterfront will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, then open 4pm-1am on New Year's Eve. They'll be closed January 1st-5th for a thorough cleaning.
Daño's Heuriger on Seneca will be open Thursday, December 22nd, just for a Hanukkah dinner, and on Friday, December 23rd for lunch and dinner, and closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They'll also be open Thursday the 29th for lunch, and Friday the 30th and New Year's Eve for lunch and dinner, and open on New Year's Day for brunch, lunch, and an early dinner.
Dapper's at the Ithaca Airport Ramada Inn will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Christmas Eve, and a special $16.95 Christmas brunch on the 25th. They'll be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on New Year's Eve, as well, with dinner served until 8 and the lounge open until 1am, and there will be breakfast, brunch, and dinner served on New Year's Day.
Felicia's Atomic Lounge will be open Christmas Eve from 6pm-Midnight, with Christmas cookies and eggnog martinis! They're closed December 25th-28th, reopening December 29th, and closed January 1st and 2nd.
Heights Cafe in Community Corners will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, will open for a prix fixe dinner on New Year's Eve, and will be closed on New Year's Day.
Insomnia Cookies is open 1pm-1am December 18th-23rd, then closed December 24th through January 2nd.
Jade Garden will be open Christmas Day from 11:30am-9pm.
Joe's Restaurant in Ithaca's west end will be open on Christmas Day. We're hoping they'll get back to us with more details!
Just a Taste, on Aurora Street in Downtown Ithaca, will be closed on December 24th and 25th, and January 1st.
Koko Restaurant will be closed December 18th through January 13th.
Mercato Bar & Kitchen will be closed December 24th, but otherwise open normal hours.
Mexeo will be open through Thursday, December 22nd, then closed for three weeks.
The Nines will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, open on New Year's Eve until 10, closed New Year's Day, and reopening for normal hours on January 2nd.
Northstar Public House will be closed December 24th and 25th.
Papa John's Pizza is open 10am-9pm on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day, open 10am-2pm on New Year's Eve, and open 10am-midnight on New Year's Day.
Plum Tree Japanese Restaurant is closed through January 11th, and reopens at 5pm on January 12th.
Rogues' Harbor Inn will be open for dinner on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, serving until 8pm on the 24th and 10pm on the 31st. Pete Panek will be playing live music on New Year's Eve, and there will be a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.
Rulloff's will be closed until January 3rd.
Sahara Mediterranean Restaurant will be closed December 24th and 25th.
Shortstop Deli will be open. Shortstop is always open!
Simply Red Bistro at La Tourelle will be open just for breakfast on December 24th, closed on Christmas Day, open for breakfast and lunch on New Year's Eve, and open just for breakfast, closing at noon, on New Year's Day.
Starbucks in Collegetown will be open 8am-4pm on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day, then open 8am-8pm from December 26th through January 18th, before returning to their regular schedule.
Stella's will be closed from December 21st through December 29th.
Sunset Grill will be closed Christmas Day, will be open December 26th 8am-3pm, and January 1st 8am-3pm, and will have normal business hours on all other days.
Taughannock Farms Inn is closed to the public during December, except for private holiday parties, other than New Year's Eve. They'll be serving dinner on the 31st from 5-10pm.
That Burrito Place is closed until January 16th.
Vietnam Restaurant in Collegetown will close on December 24th, and reopen on January 2nd.
Wilson Farms will be open 8am-7pm on Christmas Day. From December 18th through January 14th, they'll be open 6am-1am daily, and will return to usual 24-hour operation on January 15th.
Don't forget to check Campusfood.com to see which of their eateries is open for pick-up or delivery. Tip your driver well!
It's not quite the ideal dining experience, but if you're stuck on Christmas Day, Rite-Aid drug stores will be open from 9am to 5pm on the 25th. If all you need is beer and frozen pizza, there you go.
