Where can you dine in and around Ithaca and Tompkins County over the upcoming holiday weekends? As always, there will be a few eateries open over the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holidays, and we've got details on when restaurants will be open and closed.
Collegetown's 7-Eleven store (formerly Wilson Farms) is open 24/7, and will be open through the holidays.
Agava is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but has a New Year's Eve dinner planned with a prix fixe menu or à la carte menu available, and live music with Samite starting at 10pm. (The cover for the show includes a champagne toast.)
Aladdin's is closing at 2pm on Christmas Eve and reopening on January 2nd.
The Antlers on Dryden Road will be open on Thanksgiving beginning at noon.
Bangkok Thai Bistro is closed for vacation, reopening January 3rd.
BoatYard Grill will be open 4-9pm on Christmas Eve and 4-11pm on New Year's Eve, but is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
Booker's Backyard has a music night featuring Kevin Kinsella the night before Thanksgiving, but will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. They're closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, but will be open New Year's Eve with their regular menu plus some festive specials.
Ciao is open 11:30am-8pm on Christmas Eve and 11:30am-9pm on New Year's Eve. They're closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
Circus Truck is closed from December 22nd through January 1st, reopening on January 2nd.
Cornell University is hosting its 26th annual Community Thanksgiving Feast with seatings at noon and 1:30pm on Thanksgiving, with tickets going on sale on November 25th to the general public. (Tickets will not be sold at the door.) $13 for adults and $8 for children 6-12. Kids 5 and under eat free. All other Cornell Dining eateries are closed for the day.
The Country Folks Diner is closed from December 22nd until January 5th.
Daño's Heuriger on Seneca is open Thanksgiving Day with seatings from Noon-5pm, serving a $40 prix fixe three-course meal with vegan and gluten-free options available. Daño's will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
Felicia's Atomic Lounge is open New Year's Eve, then closed January 1st and 2nd. No brunch at Felicia's on January 5th, but they'll return to brunch for the remaining Sundays of the month.
Gorgers Gourmet Subs is closed from December 23rd through January 2nd, reopening on January 3rd.
Hal's Deli is closed for the holidays from Saturday, December 21st through Friday, January 10th. They're reopening on Saturday, January 11th.
The Heights Cafe in Cayuga Heights is offering a five-course dinner, or an a la carte menu, on New Year's Eve.
Joe's Restaurant is open Thanksgiving Day from 11:30am to 8:30pm with both their regular menu and a special $18 prix-fixe holiday menu, and on Christmas Day from 1-8pm with a special menu.
Just a Taste is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, open for dinner New Year's Eve until 9:30pm, and open 11am-2:30pm for brunch on New Year's Day.
Manos Diner is open its usual 24-hour schedule through Thanksgiving, and they'll have Thanksgiving specials beginning at 11am. They're open on Christmas Eve until 2pm, then closing until 6am December 26th. Open on New Year's Eve until 7pm, then closed until 6am on New Year's Day.
Mitsuba Japanese Cuisine, a new hibachi and sushi restaurant where Kyushu used to be, will be open Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
Miyake is closed for vacation, reopening on January 13th.
The P&C Fresh supermarket is open until 10pm on New Year's Eve, and reopening at 6am on New Year's Day, then returning to their usual 24-hour schedule.
Papa John's Pizza is open Thanksgiving Day from 2pm-Midnight, and Black Friday 10am-2am. They'll also be open Christmas Eve from 10am-8pm, closed Christmas Day, open New Year's Eve 10am-1am, and open New Year's Day 10am-Midnight.
Rogues' Harbor Inn will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, and open on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. There are some delicious-looking New Year's Eve specials, including crab-crusted sirloin and roasted rack of lamb, and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight, and B&B rooms are at the usual $109 winter weekday rate.
Shortstop Deli will be open. Shortstop is always open! They make fresh hot and cold subs and sandwiches to order, and always have a couple of varieties of soup and chili hot and ready.
Spicy Asian is open on Christmas Day.
Sumo Hibachi and Sushi is open Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Sushi O Sake is closed for vacation, reopening on January 8th.
Taughannock Farms Inn will be open Thanksgiving Day. December 1st-19th, they're open only for holiday parties and private events, and are closed on Christmas Day. Open to the public for New Year's Eve dinner, 5-9pm. Reservations suggested for Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.
Tokyo Hibachi is open noon to 10pm on Christmas Day.
The Varna Community Center is serving free Thanksgiving meals from noon to 3pm, to all comers. There's a choice of a roast turkey dinner with all the fixings, or vegetarian lasagna. Volunteers are needed to help with the event, and they'll accept grocery donations.
Rosie grocery delivery from the P&C Fresh supermarket is available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of Thanksgiving week, with delivery windows from 5-7pm and 7-9pm, and is closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
The Ithaca To Go restaurant delivery service will be closed December 24th, 25th, and 26th, and December 31st, January 1st, and January 2nd.
