14850 Dining Guide

Thanks for telling us what you think!

Here's a sampling of the feedback we've gotten from Dining.14850.com readers. Thanks for letting us know what's on your mind! Want to weigh in? Comment on one of our reviews, or tell us about a restaurant we haven't been to? Let us know what you think!

  • Dan from Ithaca comments: Feedback on ZaZa's Cucina Review: The peach crostata was inventive and flavorful -- perhaps the most justice done to a peach I've ever tasted. Their tiramisu is definetly the best in town, strong and a sure "pick-me-up". My wife had the Gianduga tart and savored every spoonful with a bit of frangelico spiked whipped cream. I've heard mostly mixed reviews of the place but since reading something in the Ithaca Times and here, it seems like they're finally on the right track.

  • David from Corning tells us: Les Ducs sells itself as a "provincial French" cuisine restaurant. The restaurant is pleasantly appointed and is bright and cheerful. However, one seldom goes to a restaurant to look at the walls and cushions. First thing of note is the very uncomfortable chairs. The next (and for me most annoying) are the things they tell you are "not available tonight," after you just spent 10 minutes deciding that you were going to eat. Tell the customer when you present the menu what is not available! The service was reasonable, but not outstanding.

  • The manager of Stella's writes: I just came by the 14850 site and was very disappointed in the poor review and negative perception that you give of our bar and restaurant. Many reviews about Stellas have commented on the attention to detail, the very large and unique menu that offers consumers brunch, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, and the large portions that are offered for the money. Because I have creative control over the food menu I have done comparison menu pricing for the past five years and have found that Stella's not only offers a wide variety of food, but also has prices that are typical of all other restaurants in our same category or style in the Ithaca area.

  • Todd from Ithaca says: Bistro Q's decor is very cool, right down to the old blues piping in through the speakers and the canary-yellow bath towels for "napkins." Chicken was amazing at first, but proved a bit dry toward the interior. All in all, I think it was a worthy experience. A lot of my mini-gripes can easily be chalked up to Grand Opening Jitters, and there's plenty on the menu that begs further exploration

  • Penny in Aurora says: Check out Kope's Garage...we ate there last week and it was wonderful! The chef/owner came out to say hello and see how our meal was...unusual! The prices were reasonable and food delicious! (It is where the old Fisherman Grill used to be.)

  • Cookie told us: Bistro Q was one of the worst dining experiences we've had recently. The pulled pork was dried out and tasteless and the black bean stew was just that. Black beans. It's not likely we'll go back.

  • Said Bob from Lansing: You should definitely give commendable mention to Little Pisces Seafood and Grill, 11 Graham Road, Ithaca (at the Graham Road entrance to Pyramid Mall). Chef Yeppi is at it again with his incredible sauces, and Tim Dillon, his partner in the kitchen makes a very effective team. And owner, Sam, is definitely bringing Asian influence into the preparation. The only way I can describe the food is Asian/European/American Nouvelle-Eclectic!!

  • Michelle in Lansing noted: Just wanted to comment that the meal my husband and I had at the Boatyard Grill was incredible!! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

  • Dave from Ithaca told us:After hearing great things, my family and I were extremely disappointed with Boatyard Grill. Once seated, they forgot about us. After 15 minutes without even water, we flagged someone down. The food was average at best. From the name, I was expecting a wider selection of seafood. Surprisingly, the selection was quite limited.

  • A visitor from Puerto Rico reported: The food at Boatyard Grill was excellent, but the service was terrible. We had to practically beg to be served, even though we had called ahead of time to make our reservation like they requested.

  • An anonymous rant: Billy Bob Jack's is a mockery of a bbq restaurant, and yet you wouldn't know that from your *non* review. I'd suggest you become more substantive in future. Ithaca is not rife with perfect eating opportunities, and the stellar spots deserve to be singled out.
